Friday, November 21, 2008, 07:00

MIDFIELDER Darren Way has been ruled out of first team action for approximately four weeks after pulling a groin muscle.

The diminutive player suffered the injury while taking a shot in training yesterday morning.

It was his first session back after recovering from an illness that prevented him from travelling to Stockport County for the FA Cup first round replay on Tuesday.

Manager Russell Slade said that Keiran Murtagh would be likely to start again tomorrow against Tranmere Rovers.

For all the match action and reaction see next Thursday's Western Gazette, or visit www.westerngazette.co.uk after the final whistle.

Latest figures show six people a week are stabbed to death on the streets of Britain. From next week courts will be able to sentence knife offenders to "community payback" work including picking up litter and cleaning up graffiti while wearing high-visibility jackets. Will this be enough to stem the rise in knife crime?
